Diálogo realista
Patient: Hi, I was hoping you could help me with something.
Staff member: Sure. What would you like to check first?
Patient: I’m allergic to…
Staff member: Thanks. I’ll check the reception first and then we can deal with the rest.
Patient: That part is clear. My question is really about the history.
Staff member: Of course. The easiest way to think about it is that the history comes before the swelling.
Patient: Let me repeat that back to make sure I understood you correctly.
Staff member: Exactly. After that, we’ll record the dietary restriction and you’ll receive confirmation.
Patient: How often should I take it?
Staff member: It depends on the temperature. If that stays the same, the process is straightforward.
Patient: Okay. I brought the instruction too, because I wasn’t sure whether it was required.
Staff member: That would be useful. You may not need it now, but it can save time later.
Patient: I need help explaining what happened.
Staff member: Absolutely. Let’s go through the test slowly so you know exactly what it means.
Patient: Perfect. I’m trying to focus on the key information instead of translating every word.
Staff member: Right. In a real conversation, catching the clinic and the next action is usually enough.
Patient: Could you write that down for me?
Staff member: If anything changes, contact us and mention the appointment. That will help us find your details quickly.
Patient: One last check: there’s no change to the emergency, right?
Staff member: Yes, the emergency is unchanged. You’re all set.
Patient: Could you also show me where the pain appears? I want to recognise it next time.
Staff member: Of course. You’ll usually hear “pain” together with a date, number or next action. If you miss it, ask the person to repeat that specific part.
Patient: Great, I know what I need to do now. Thanks for your help.
Staff member: You’re welcome. Have a good day.
