Diálogo realista
Alex: Hi. I’m not completely sure what the next step is, so I wanted to check with you.
Jamie: Certainly. What information do you already have?
Alex: What have you been up to lately?
Jamie: Okay. The first thing we should look at is the weekend.
Alex: I have that. I’m less certain about the movie.
Jamie: Of course. The easiest way to think about it is that the movie comes before the story.
Alex: I want to make sure I’ve got the details right before I continue.
Jamie: Exactly. After that, we’ll record the friend and you’ll receive confirmation.
Alex: I’m afraid I can’t make it.
Jamie: That’s a good question. If the plan changes, let us know as soon as possible.
Alex: Okay. I brought the conversation too, because I wasn’t sure whether it was required.
Jamie: Yes, keep it handy. Someone may ask you to confirm it later.
Alex: I’m here because I need help with hablar de deportes.
Jamie: No problem. I’ll explain the music in plain terms and then you can tell me if anything is unclear.
Alex: Thanks. The vocabulary is actually easier when I can connect it to the situation.
Jamie: Exactly. You don’t need every word. Focus on the favourite and any instruction that follows it.
Alex: Do you have any plans for the weekend?
Jamie: For a follow-up, keep the free time somewhere easy to find.
Alex: Before I go, can I confirm the interest as well?
Jamie: That’s correct. The interest stays exactly as discussed.
Alex: Great, I know what I need to do now. Thanks for your help.
Jamie: You’re welcome. Have a good day.
✕ I have a doubt about this.
✓ I have a question about this.
“I have a question” es la opción natural para introducir una consulta concreta.
✕ Can you repeat me that?
✓ Could you repeat that, please?
Con repeat, lo natural es usar directamente el objeto: “repeat that” o “say that again”.
✕ I need that you explain it.
✓ I need you to explain it.
✕ Tell me the weekend.
✓ Could you tell me about the weekend, please?
