Diálogo realista
Alex: Good morning. I’m here to sort out something and I want to make sure I explain it clearly.
Morgan: Of course. Tell me what’s happening and we’ll take it from there.
Alex: I can have that ready by…
Morgan: Right. Let’s start with the meeting, because that usually determines the next step.
Alex: Okay. Could you explain how the handover works here?
Morgan: Of course. The easiest way to think about it is that the handover comes before the contact.
Alex: Could I check one thing? I don’t want to misunderstand the timing.
Morgan: Exactly. After that, we’ll record the manager and you’ll receive confirmation.
Alex: I appreciate the feedback.
Morgan: The only thing to watch is the role, because that can affect the timing.
Alex: Got it. I also have the team with me in case you need it.
Morgan: That would be useful. You may not need it now, but it can save time later.
Alex: Could we revisit that point?
Morgan: Absolutely. Let’s go through the deadline slowly so you know exactly what it means.
Alex: Thanks. The vocabulary is actually easier when I can connect it to the situation.
Morgan: Right. In a real conversation, catching the notice and the next action is usually enough.
Alex: Would it be possible to…?
Morgan: For a follow-up, keep the feedback somewhere easy to find.
Alex: Okay, I’ll do that. And the responsibility stays the same, correct?
Morgan: Yes, the responsibility is unchanged. You’re all set.
Alex: Before we finish, could you give me one example using “update” so I know I understood it?
Morgan: Of course. You’ll usually hear “update” together with a date, number or next action. If you miss it, ask the person to repeat that specific part.
Alex: Perfect. That answers my questions. Thanks for explaining it so clearly.
Morgan: You’re welcome. I’m glad we could sort it out.
✕ I have a doubt about this.
✓ I have a question about this.
“I have a question” es la opción natural para introducir una consulta concreta.
✕ Can you repeat me that?
✓ Could you repeat that, please?
Con repeat, lo natural es usar directamente el objeto: “repeat that” o “say that again”.
✕ I need that you confirm it.
✓ I’d like you to check it.
Evitá copiar estructuras del español. En inglés cambian tanto la construcción como el registro de cortesía.
✕ Tell me the meeting.
✓ Could you tell me about the meeting, please?
Agregar could y please hace que un pedido de información suene mucho más natural.
