Diálogo realista
Traveler: Hello. I have a quick question before we get started.
Agent: No problem. Let’s start with the most important point.
Traveler: Could we go over the details for perder una conexión?
Agent: Thanks. I’ll check the booking first and then we can deal with the rest.
Traveler: I have that. I’m less certain about the gate.
Agent: Yes. We normally confirm the gate and then update the connection.
Traveler: That makes sense. Can I confirm exactly what happens next?
Agent: Exactly. After that, we’ll record the carry-on and you’ll receive confirmation.
Traveler: Thank you for your help.
Agent: It depends on the passport. If that stays the same, the process is straightforward.
Traveler: Okay. I brought the destination too, because I wasn’t sure whether it was required.
Agent: Yes. It’s better to have it ready, especially if we need to verify a detail.
Traveler: My booking number is…
Agent: No problem. I’ll explain the fare in plain terms and then you can tell me if anything is unclear.
Traveler: Thanks. The vocabulary is actually easier when I can connect it to the situation.
Agent: Exactly. You don’t need every word. Focus on the departure and any instruction that follows it.
Traveler: What are my options?
Agent: If anything changes, contact us and mention the reservation. That will help us find your details quickly.
Traveler: Before I go, can I confirm the platform as well?
Agent: Yes. Nothing else changes there.
Traveler: Could you also show me where the arrival appears? I want to recognise it next time.
Agent: Sure. In this context, “arrival” is the detail people usually mention when they confirm the arrangement. You don’t need a long answer; a short confirmation is enough.
Traveler: That’s much clearer now. I appreciate your time.
Agent: No problem at all. Take care.
✕ I have a doubt about this.
✓ I have a question about this.
“I have a question” es la opción natural para introducir una consulta concreta.
✕ Can you repeat me that?
✓ Could you repeat that, please?
Con repeat, lo natural es usar directamente el objeto: “repeat that” o “say that again”.
✕ I need that you confirm it.
✓ I’d like you to check it.
Evitá copiar estructuras del español. En inglés cambian tanto la construcción como el registro de cortesía.
✕ Tell me the booking.
✓ Could you tell me about the booking, please?
Agregar could y please hace que un pedido de información suene mucho más natural.
