Diálogo realista
Alex: Hi, I was hoping you could help me with something.
Jordan: Sure. What would you like to check first?
Alex: What would be the best next step?
Jordan: Thanks. I’ll check the proposal first and then we can deal with the rest.
Alex: I have that. I’m less certain about the stakeholder.
Jordan: Sure. In this case, the stakeholder depends on the expectation.
Alex: Let me repeat that back to make sure I understood you correctly.
Jordan: Exactly. After that, we’ll record the objection and you’ll receive confirmation.
Alex: The key figure here is…
Jordan: The only thing to watch is the metric, because that can affect the timing.
Alex: That helps. Should I keep the impact available for the next step?
Jordan: That would be useful. You may not need it now, but it can save time later.
Alex: Thanks everyone for your time.
Jordan: Sure. The agenda is simpler than it sounds; there are only two things to remember.
Alex: Perfect. I’m trying to focus on the key information instead of translating every word.
Jordan: Right. In a real conversation, catching the forecast and the next action is usually enough.
Alex: I’ll follow up by email.
Jordan: If you need to follow up, refer to the timeline so the next person can see the history.
Alex: Before I go, can I confirm the decision as well?
Jordan: Yes, the decision is unchanged. You’re all set.
Alex: I have one final vocabulary question about the revenue. What should I listen for?
Jordan: Of course. You’ll usually hear “revenue” together with a date, number or next action. If you miss it, ask the person to repeat that specific part.
Alex: Great, I know what I need to do now. Thanks for your help.
Jordan: You’re welcome. I’m glad we could sort it out.
“Just to confirm…” y “So, if I understood correctly…” son recursos normales en inglés profesional y cotidiano.
✕ I have a doubt about this.
✓ I have a question about this.
“I have a question” es la opción natural para introducir una consulta concreta.
✕ Can you repeat me that?
✓ Could you repeat that, please?
Con repeat, lo natural es usar directamente el objeto: “repeat that” o “say that again”.
✕ I want that you check it.
✓ I’d like you to check it.
Evitá copiar estructuras del español. En inglés cambian tanto la construcción como el registro de cortesía.
✕ Tell me the proposal.
✓ Could you tell me about the proposal, please?
Agregar could y please hace que un pedido de información suene mucho más natural.
