Is this compatible with…?
I’d like to return this.
Is there another option?
Is there a discount on this item?
How much is it?
Does it come with a charger?
Do you have this in a different size?
Can I try this on?
Thanks — that was the part I wasn’t sure about.
Would you mind saying that one more time?
Could you walk me through that step?
I’d rather check now than make a mistake later.
That works for me. What should I do next?
Diálogo realista
Customer: Hi, I was hoping you could help me with something.
Assistant: Of course. Tell me what’s happening and we’ll take it from there.
Customer: Is this compatible with…?
Assistant: Okay. The first thing we should look at is the compatibility.
Customer: I have that. I’m less certain about the receipt.
Assistant: Yes. We normally confirm the receipt and then update the stock.
Customer: Could I check one thing? I don’t want to misunderstand the timing.
Assistant: Yes, that’s right. Once the feature is confirmed, there shouldn’t be any other action for you today.
Customer: I’d like to return this.
Assistant: It depends on the exchange. If that stays the same, the process is straightforward.
Customer: Okay. I brought the delivery too, because I wasn’t sure whether it was required.
Assistant: That would be useful. You may not need it now, but it can save time later.
Customer: Is there another option?
Assistant: Sure. The refund is simpler than it sounds; there are only two things to remember.
Customer: Perfect. I’m trying to focus on the key information instead of translating every word.
Assistant: That’s a good approach. Listen for the colour, the time or number, and the action you need to take.
Customer: Is there a discount on this item?
Assistant: For a follow-up, keep the battery somewhere easy to find.
Customer: Okay, I’ll do that. And the charger stays the same, correct?
Assistant: That’s correct. The charger stays exactly as discussed.
Customer: Could you also show me where the warranty appears? I want to recognise it next time.
Assistant: Sure. In this context, “warranty” is the detail people usually mention when they confirm the arrangement. You don’t need a long answer; a short confirmation is enough.
Customer: Great, I know what I need to do now. Thanks for your help.
Assistant: You’re welcome. I’m glad we could sort it out.
✕ I have a doubt about this.
✓ I have a question about this.
“I have a question” es la opción natural para introducir una consulta concreta.
✕ Can you repeat me that?
✓ Could you repeat that, please?
Con repeat, lo natural es usar directamente el objeto: “repeat that” o “say that again”.
✕ I want that you check it.
✓ I need you to explain it.
Evitá copiar estructuras del español. En inglés cambian tanto la construcción como el registro de cortesía.
✕ Tell me the compatibility.
✓ Could you tell me about the compatibility, please?
Agregar could y please hace que un pedido de información suene mucho más natural.
