Diálogo realista
Alex: Hi there. I need some help with this situation and I have the main information with me.
Morgan: Of course. Tell me what’s happening and we’ll take it from there.
Alex: I can have that ready by…
Morgan: Right. Let’s start with the project, because that usually determines the next step.
Alex: I have that. I’m less certain about the milestone.
Morgan: Of course. The easiest way to think about it is that the milestone comes before the task.
Alex: Could I check one thing? I don’t want to misunderstand the timing.
Morgan: Yes, that’s right. Once the salary is confirmed, there shouldn’t be any other action for you today.
Alex: Could we move the deadline to…?
Morgan: It depends on the blocker. If that stays the same, the process is straightforward.
Alex: That helps. Should I keep the availability available for the next step?
Morgan: That would be useful. You may not need it now, but it can save time later.
Alex: What would be the best next step?
Morgan: Sure. The meeting is simpler than it sounds; there are only two things to remember.
Alex: Thanks. The vocabulary is actually easier when I can connect it to the situation.
Morgan: That’s a good approach. Listen for the scope, the time or number, and the action you need to take.
Alex: Just to confirm, we’re talking about explicar una tarea.
Morgan: If you need to follow up, refer to the status so the next person can see the history.
Alex: Before I go, can I confirm the priority as well?
Morgan: Yes. Nothing else changes there.
Alex: Great, I know what I need to do now. Thanks for your help.
Morgan: Of course. Good luck with everything.
✕ I have a doubt about this.
✓ I have a question about this.
“I have a question” es la opción natural para introducir una consulta concreta.
✕ Can you repeat me that?
✓ Could you repeat that, please?
Con repeat, lo natural es usar directamente el objeto: “repeat that” o “say that again”.
✕ I need that you explain it.
✓ I’d like you to check it.
✕ Tell me the project.
✓ Could you tell me about the project, please?
