Diálogo realista
Alex: Hello. I’d like to go over a few details, if that’s okay.
Jordan: Certainly. What information do you already have?
Alex: What would success look like?
Jordan: Okay. The first thing we should look at is the metric.
Alex: I have that. I’m less certain about the proposal.
Jordan: Yes. We normally confirm the proposal and then update the presentation.
Alex: I want to make sure I’ve got the details right before I continue.
Jordan: Exactly. After that, we’ll record the objection and you’ll receive confirmation.
Alex: Could we agree on the next step?
Jordan: It depends on the negotiation. If that stays the same, the process is straightforward.
Alex: That helps. Should I keep the stakeholder available for the next step?
Jordan: Yes, keep it handy. Someone may ask you to confirm it later.
Alex: Could we go over the details for describir una empresa?
Jordan: Absolutely. Let’s go through the action item slowly so you know exactly what it means.
Alex: That’s helpful. I understand the general idea; I just want to avoid missing one important detail.
Jordan: Exactly. You don’t need every word. Focus on the client and any instruction that follows it.
Alex: The key figure here is…
Jordan: If you need to follow up, refer to the follow-up so the next person can see the history.
Alex: Before I go, can I confirm the pricing as well?
Jordan: Yes, the pricing is unchanged. You’re all set.
Alex: I have one final vocabulary question about the objective. What should I listen for?
Jordan: Yes. Think of “objective” as a keyword that tells you what information the other person needs. Once you hear it, respond with the relevant detail rather than a full explanation.
Alex: Great, I know what I need to do now. Thanks for your help.
Jordan: You’re welcome. Have a good day.
✕ I have a doubt about this.
✓ I have a question about this.
“I have a question” es la opción natural para introducir una consulta concreta.
✕ Can you repeat me that?
✓ Could you repeat that, please?
Con repeat, lo natural es usar directamente el objeto: “repeat that” o “say that again”.
✕ I want that you check it.
✓ I’d like you to check it.
✕ Tell me the metric.
✓ Could you tell me about the metric, please?
