Diálogo realista
Customer: Hello. I have a quick question before we get started.
Representative: Certainly. What information do you already have?
Customer: When can a technician come?
Representative: Thanks. I’ll check the document first and then we can deal with the rest.
Customer: I have that. I’m less certain about the confirmation.
Representative: Sure. In this case, the confirmation depends on the counter.
Customer: Could I check one thing? I don’t want to misunderstand the timing.
Representative: Yes, that’s right. Once the repair is confirmed, there shouldn’t be any other action for you today.
Customer: I’d like to cancel this service.
Representative: The only thing to watch is the connection, because that can affect the timing.
Customer: That helps. Should I keep the account available for the next step?
Representative: That would be useful. You may not need it now, but it can save time later.
Customer: When should this be resolved?
Representative: Absolutely. Let’s go through the bill slowly so you know exactly what it means.
Customer: Perfect. I’m trying to focus on the key information instead of translating every word.
Representative: Exactly. You don’t need every word. Focus on the technician and any instruction that follows it.
Customer: I’m calling because the service isn’t working.
Representative: If you need to follow up, refer to the request so the next person can see the history.
Customer: Before I go, can I confirm the service as well?
Representative: Yes, the service is unchanged. You’re all set.
Customer: Before we finish, could you give me one example using “complaint” so I know I understood it?
Representative: Of course. You’ll usually hear “complaint” together with a date, number or next action. If you miss it, ask the person to repeat that specific part.
Customer: Excellent. I’ll follow those steps and get back in touch if anything changes.
Representative: Of course. Good luck with everything.

En una conversación sobre explicar un problema con el agua, identificá primero si la otra persona está pidiendo un dato, confirmando algo o indicando un próximo paso. Esa función te ayuda a responder incluso si no entendiste una palabra secundaria.

✕ Can you repeat me that?
✓ Could you repeat that, please?
Con repeat, lo natural es usar directamente el objeto: “repeat that” o “say that again”.
✕ I need that you explain it.
✓ I need you to explain it.
Evitá copiar estructuras del español. En inglés cambian tanto la construcción como el registro de cortesía.
✕ Tell me the document.
