Diálogo realista
Alex: Hi, I was hoping you could help me with something.
Morgan: Sure. What would you like to check first?
Alex: I want to make sure I understood correctly.
Morgan: Thanks. I’ll check the manager first and then we can deal with the rest.
Alex: That part is clear. My question is really about the team.
Morgan: Yes. We normally confirm the team and then update the deadline.
Alex: Let me repeat that back to make sure I understood you correctly.
Morgan: Correct. The role is the final detail we need before moving ahead.
Alex: What would be the best next step?
Morgan: It depends on the availability. If that stays the same, the process is straightforward.
Alex: Got it. I also have the update with me in case you need it.
Morgan: Yes. It’s better to have it ready, especially if we need to verify a detail.
Alex: One example from my previous role is…
Morgan: Sure. The task is simpler than it sounds; there are only two things to remember.
Alex: That’s helpful. I understand the general idea; I just want to avoid missing one important detail.
Morgan: That’s a good approach. Listen for the interview, the time or number, and the action you need to take.
Alex: Would it be possible to…?
Morgan: If anything changes, contact us and mention the position. That will help us find your details quickly.
Alex: One last check: there’s no change to the schedule, right?
Morgan: Yes, the schedule is unchanged. You’re all set.
Alex: Before we finish, could you give me one example using “question” so I know I understood it?
Morgan: Yes. Think of “question” as a keyword that tells you what information the other person needs. Once you hear it, respond with the relevant detail rather than a full explanation.
Alex: That’s much clearer now. I appreciate your time.
Morgan: Of course. Good luck with everything.
✕ I have a doubt about this.
✓ I have a question about this.
“I have a question” es la opción natural para introducir una consulta concreta.
✕ Can you repeat me that?
✓ Could you repeat that, please?
Con repeat, lo natural es usar directamente el objeto: “repeat that” o “say that again”.
✕ I need that you confirm it.
✓ Could you confirm it for me?
✕ Tell me the manager.
✓ Could you tell me about the manager, please?
